Top Fashion Trends I have been loving lately

We are halfway through 2020 and I wanted to highlight some of my favourite trends that I have been loving so far. We have seen a lot of these on repeat but that’s just how fashion works- “Back in style again!” A major throwback to some of the 80s and 90s inspo, here is the 2020 trend recap featuring my top favourite trends.

Also, most of the products are currently on sale so make sure to check out the links!

The Shoulder Pad Tee

A total game changer for basic tees and a perfect way to elevate your look. Shoulder pads were huge in the 80s, making a statement for women’s clothing. This popular silhouette has been reintroduced in the simplest form- a classic tee. Check out the links below to shop!

Corset/ Bustier Tops

Lingerie has been in the spotlight this year as opposed to being hidden underneath outfits. Seen during the renaissance period, corsets have evolved and been updated over the years. No matter what the occasion, there are so many ways to style them for that snatched, sexy and cinched look.

Corsets are the perfect way to add shape to an oversized or loose-fitting outfit. Here I have paired a simple sheer lace corset to a blazer set. I have linked some of my favorite corset/ bustier top styles below for you to shop!

Biker Shorts

Spotted among celebrities and influencers, this athleisure trend has been made popular for a while now and will continue this year. It is the perfect alternative to leggings for summer. A perfect way to style biker shorts is wearing a matching tank or sweatshirt with sneakers or you could even dress them up by adding a blazer and strappy heels for a night out. Shop these styles below!

Pastel Tones

Pastel tones have been major this year. These lady-like soft hues are perfect way to add color to your wardrobe. Lilac/ Lavender tones were widely seen as the favourite color this spring/ summer and they are sooo dreamy! Tones like Baby blue, blush and turquoise were also popular this season.

Pastel colors can be easily styled with a neutral tone, basic denim or even throw on a complimenting shade. Dropped down some of my favourite pastel outfits for you to browse from.

Sweatsuits AKA Quarantine Fit

Staying home never looked cuter. Sweatsuits were the ultimate quarantine uniform aka effortless loungewear. These comfy yet chic sets were quickly made popular and the perfect attire to work from home, bake banana bread or even just Netflix and chill. Linked some of my favourite cozy sweats here below and they are currently on sale as well!

Blazer Sets

I would say Blazers are my all-time favourite trend. What is even better? – a monochrome power suit #BOSS BABE. Unlike the staple black or white power suit, I opted for a mint set from Zara and paired it with a corset top and Nike Air Force 1 sneakers.

Instead of going for an oversized blazer, you could opt for a sleek thigh-length blazer in neutrals or pop of color. To balance out the long-line blazer, you could wear flared trousers. Here are some of my favourites.

Tweed

Coco Chanel’s tweed jackets remain timeless and this year alot of retailers have redesigned this iconic trend. There are so many styles available like blazer sets, jackets, shorts, mini- skirts with frayed bottoms and beautiful details. I would pair this beautiful fabric with neutral or minimal tones, making tweed the hero piece. This green Blazer tweed set is from Zara, but I have also linked other tweed styles for you to shop from.
